The parade will take place in Brisbane CBD on Saturday 3rd March. About 1500 participants and audience of 30-50 thousands will get together . Decades of different squares will perform Chinese Kong Fu, traditional dancing, traditional costume and more. The New Year Gala will be held in the Theater Epicure of City Hall on Monday 11th March, with over 1500 people invited.
The Brisbane Chinese Festival was founded in 2012. It is one of the major local cultural events co-organised by the Queensland Chinese United Council (QCUC) and other Chinese communities all over Brisbane. The Festival gathers Chinese people in Brisbane to celebrate our Spring Festival (Chinese New Year), and also promotes our unique culture in Brisbane’s multi-culture atmosphere. As a non-government and non-profit event, the Brisbane Chinese Festival has been supported by Brisbane City Council and the local people in the last few years. Local communities from other cultural background also participate in this celebration and many overseas tour groups stop by to join in the festival.
